WHAT IS IT?
Unlike the Leatherman Skeletool, which is one of the best all-around pocket tools we’ve ever used, the Leatherman Brewzer is much simpler — and yet it’s still incredibly cool and useful. It’s a mini stainless steel 2-in-1 pocket tool that works as a bottle opener and has a flat tip that acts as a mini pry tool.
Why would you want this instead of the other?
Let’s face it, sometimes you don’t want or need a big, bulky Skeletool taking up space in your pocket. But it’s always smart to have a bottle opener or pry tool on hand. Trust us and read on. We tried the Brewzer out and found a ton of great uses for it.
Because it’s from Leatherman, it’s well made. It won’t rust or corrode, even when you leave it in your pocket and it gets a run through the washing machine; of course, we can’t guarantee how others will react when it bangs around and scratches up the inside of the machine.
The pry tool is really useful, and also great for opening packages. And we love the clever bottle-shaped hole detail.
We kept it on us to test out over one weekend, and besides using it as an excuse to buy and open beer bottles, we also found it was great for the following:
- A key chain tool
- Amazon package Opener
- Golf ball marker
- Mini paper weight
- A clay carving tool (Nephew had an art project.)
- Pistachio opener (It was there, so why not try it out?)
- Icebreaker (Literally.)
- Icebreaker (Opened a beer for attractive woman.)
- Gift for 21st birthday (The other nephew.)
ALTERNATIVE USES WE IMAGINED (while drinking beers with friends)
- Throw it to distract a guard when sneaking into a foreign embassy.
- Use to test the surface tension of quicksand.
- Carve rescue messages into driftwood.
As you can see, the options are endless.
Simple, innovative and clever— the Brewzer is an excellent everyday-carry tool.
