Amplified Ale Works
Location: San Diego, California
How can you go wrong with bacon and beer? You can’t.
Operated out of the well-known California Kebab and Beer Garden, Amplified Aleworks has some amazing deals on Sundays. For $20, you can try four beer samplings along with some thick-cut hickory smoked bacon.
Although Amplified Aleworks isn't the only microbrewery in San Diego, it does happen to be one of the finest.
The recent revolution of American microbreweries has shifted the beer industry’s interests to quality, not quantity. And if you’re a beer lover, that’s an amazing thing.
As of 2012, there were more than 2,300 operating craft breweries (those making fewer than 6 million barrels a year) in the U.S., according to the American Brewers Association— earning $12 billion in retail sales, the same size as the ultra-premium wine market.
Why do we love craft beer? It tastes great, packs a punch (sometimes up to 40 percent abv), and there are so many choices to choose from.
When attempting to define craft beer, each brew lover will most likely have his or her own personal interpretation to share, as each individual brand is truly one-of-a-kind. With hundreds of new operations firing up their fermenters each year, it’s sometimes hard to settle on which beer you should be drinking. But, then again, that’s part of the fun. The more options there are, the more beers we’re obligated to sample.
Because, as you well know, life is too short to drink bad beer.
